Avoid Scratching

The worst part about healing from any sort of surgery is the itchiness. As a normal part of the healing process, many patients experience some itchiness that may even persist for several months. Even though you may want to grab a bottle brush and scratch your incisions to find some sort of relief, it’s best if you don’t scratch them at all.

Clean Your Incisions

Before you leave our office, we will give you detailed instructions on how you should clean your incisions to avoid any infections. When cleaning your incisions, make sure that you don’t apply too much pressure because you don’t want to irritate the area. If you notice a lot of puss, inflammation, or redness around your incisions, contact our office to make sure that you don’t have an infection.

One of the most common side effects of a brow lift or forehead lift is swelling. In fact, a lot of patients experience swelling that goes all the way up their cheeks, which is normal, but it should subside within a couple of days. To help ease swelling and pain, take some non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen or Motrin.

Before we send you home from surgery, we will give you detailed instructions on what to do once you get home. If you want to learn more about brow lift surgery or brow lift recovery, contact us at our Huntington office and call (631) 423-1000.
